We build and run social enterprises
It’s our mission to mainstream jobs-focused social enterprise. We want to see these businesses in every community across Australia, so that every individual can access meaningful and full award wage employment.
To help fast-track this we build and run large-scale jobs-focused social enterprises. We have a dedicated team with deep and diverse experience across social entrepreneurship, finance, marketing, HR and operations, who can progress a business concept from ideation to maturity.
Being deep in the weeds of running a social enterprise, means we see and experience firsthand the challenges these businesses face. This informs the advocacy we do for jobs-focused social enterprise.
ASA
Founded in 2020, Australian Spatial Analytics (ASA) is a unique data services provider harnessing the exceptional talents of young autistic adults to deliver onshore data services to some of Australia’s largest corporate organisations and government departments. With offices in Brisbane, Melbourne, Adelaide and Cairns, ASA is one of the fastest growing social enterprises in Australia, employing more than 150 individuals, 80% of whom are neurodiverse.
Beacon Laundry
Beacon Laundry is a jobs-focused social enterprise laundry. First launched in Bangalow, Northern NSW in early 2024, a second site has recently opening in southwest Adelaide in collaboration with Bedford Group. Beacon’s primary goal is to create jobs and employment pathways for people with complex barriers to work. Across both locations, we have a workforce of almost 200 people.
Civik People
Civik People is a non-profit social enterprise that helps refugees and humanitarian entrants secure sustainable employment across a range of sectors. The team’s approach is two-fold. Firstly, they provide new Australians with the support and training they need to adjust to the Australian workplace and reach their career goals. And secondly they deliver customised recruitment and workforce management services to large employers, giving them greater access to diverse talent, better retention rates and increased productivity.
Witton Barracks
Launched in 2024, Witton Barracks is a historic WWII site reimagined as a playground for ideas. In collaboration with the local Indooroopilly community, White Box is transforming the site into a thriving community and social enterprise hub that aims to build stronger community ties, attract creative thinkers, dream up bold ideas and create jobs.
ASA: Exceptionally good
Australia Spatial Analytics (ASA) is becoming the poster child for social enterprises that are both innovative and commercially viable.
Launched in 2020 by White Box Enterprises, ASA provides professional data services and creates careers in geospatial and digital engineering for young neurodivergent adults.
In a few short years, it has created career paths for over 150 young neurodivergent adults and earned recognition as a finalist in The Australian Financial Review 2024 BOSS Most Innovative Companies awards.
But ASA’s journey has been anything but easy.
As White Box CEO Luke Terry recalls, “ASA didn’t just soar—it nearly fell over a few times. But we just kept going with it. We needed it to work. And it did.”
